Faro Palari 2008 (4.8/5)

Let's put it simple. This is one of the best wine Sicily has to offer.
A wine of Terroir that makes you understand how silly can be the idea of a single 'DOC Sicilia' Denomination. Sicily has so many different faces to offer! We haven't studied Pirandello enough!

This is half a way between a Burgundian and a Rioja's best effort, with a distinctive Sicilian sapidity.
Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Nocera grown on terraced slopes in front of the 'Stretto di Messina' give rise to a wine of immense balance, purity and complexity.

Black cherries, hedgerow fruits, leather, cedar, incense, spices, Mediterranean herbs, mineral haematic notes.
On the palate it has a serious tannic structure and perfectly balanced acidity, yet it's meaty and juicy. Quite long on the finish.
Outstanding quality. Premium Price. 50% Nerello Mascalese, 20% Nerello Cappuccio, 20% Nocera and 10% other indigenous grapes, Faro, Sicily, Italy.
