Chivite Colección 125 Tinto Reserva 2010 (4/5)

Contrary to previous vintages, which were seeing a more international blend (including Cabernet and Merlot), this vintage is made by 100% Tempranillo from the single-vineyard Finca Granja de Legardeta. The wine is aged for 14months in french oak barrels (40% new). The result is a modern, yet classy, expression of Navarra's Tempranillo.

It appears intense ruby purple with good tears. On the nose it's clean and still reticent, with notes of ripe red fruits cedar and cocoa, hints of  spices and garrigue.
On the palate is dry, with Medium and very fine tannins, balanced acidity, med+ alcohol, med+ body. Medium finish.
Very Good quality, it's approachable now but it needs time to fully develop as it has good potential for improving, High Price (but very good value for money). 100% Tempranillo, Navarra, Spain.
