Château des Annereaux Lalande-de-Pomerol 2002 (4/5)

The 2002 vintage was one of the worst for the right bank in Bordeaux. Yet, you can find very decent wines at a very well price point, especially now after many years since the hardest tannins has been smoothed out by ageing.  This wine was therefore a surprise and delivered much above expectations.

It still have an intense ruby color with good tears. On the nose it's clean offering medium intensity of black and red fruit, cedar and earth, fresh floral and leafy notes, chocolate dust, sweet spices and a vein of minerality.

On the palate is dry, with medium+ acidity, medium tannins tamed by time, med- alcohol, medium body and good mid palate. Med+ finish. Not super concentrated but sleek and overall very pleasant. Great effort for the vintage.

Very good quality, Drink Now but will keep going for a several years, Medium/High Price (but very good quality-price ratio). 70% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc, Lalande de Pomerol, Bordeaux, France.
