MAYU Syrah Reserva Elqui Valley 2011 (3.7/5)

It appears deep ruby red with very good legs. On the nose it's clean, offering the so typically Chilean highly-toned medley of blackberries brambles and raspberry, followed by white pepper, animal notes of marinated wild meat, cedar and coffee.

On the palate enters smooth with sweet dark fruits under spirit, but a sort of disjointed acidity follows up. Tannins are soft and alcohol is medium+. Full body but not a great structure. Med+ finish, ending with liquorice/tar notes.

Good quality, Drink Now, High Price. Syrah, Elqui Valley, Chile.
