Gallica Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 (4.1/5)

Notes: Deep ruby with purple core and good legs. On the nose it's clean offering anintense notes of blackberries, brambles compote, cassis, lots of floral character followed by coffee beans, chocolate paste, cedar and liquorice.
On the palate is dry, medium+ acidity, medium tannins, high but well hidden alcohol, full body but with a cool dark elegance. Med+ finish. Another example of modern "boutique" Napa Cab, it's not over-the-top (that's good!) but the palate remains a bit solid steel and not very expressive notwithstanding its undeniable plushness and well knitted texture.
Very good quality, approachable now but it may gain some complexity with ageing. Premium Price. 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc, Oakville-Coombsville-St. Helena, Napa Valley, USA.
