Cims de Porrera Vi de la Vila Porrera 2009 (4.3/5)

This was previously called "Solanes", although the new philosophy is more focused on local varieties (Cabernet, Syrah and Merlot have been removed from the blend). Yet the influence of french barrique remains very evident.

It appears deep ruby purple with good tears. On the nose it's clean, med+ intensity, red/black cherries, cedar, cocoa powder, black olives and Mediterranean herbs, some mineral/haematic notes in the background.

On the palate is dry, with med+ acidity, med+ (dusty) tannins, med+ alcohol, medium+ body with good concentration and vibrancy of flavours. Med+ finish. Some green notes on the end, liquorice as well.

Very Good quality, Drink Now but will keep going for several years. High Price, Blend of young-vine Garnacha and Carinena grapes, (Vi de la Vila) Porrera, Priorat, Spain.
