Rossi Ranch, Jolie Laide 2012 (4.4/5)

This belongs to the wave of interesting Californian "New Wines" that are winning, year after year, lots of new consumers that were tired of the Big-Flavor California wine engineered around the flamboyant palate of some influential American critic (I recommend the book "The New California Wine" by Jon Bonne').

It appears medium+ purple with good legs. On the nose it's clean offering medium+ wild damson, cherries, blackberries, white pepper, anise and intriguing white floral notes that are most likely coming from the white varietals (Viognier, Muscat) used in this blend.
On the palate is dry, with balanced med+ acidity, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium+ body with very good concentration and rewarding mid palate. Med+ finish.
Very Good quality and Interesting personality, Drink Now or hold, Field Blend of Grenache/Syrah/Viognier/Muscat, Premium Price. Forestville, Sonoma County, California, USA.
