Quinta Nova 250th Anniversary Douro 2011 (3.9/5)

Notes: It appears med+ red purple with good legs. On the nose it's clean offering medium intense notes of damsons, hedgerow fruits, fresh Mediterranean herbs. The labels states "unoaked", yet there are notes of dark chocolate and coffee. Not sure if the term "unoaked" is intended as "no elevage in barriques" or "any oak at all (including tannin powders or staves etc) has been used during the winemaking process". Anyway the wine has great integrity and a fresh expressivity that goes well with food.

On the palate is dry, with med+ acidity, medium tannins, med+ alcohol, medium+ body. Medium Finish.

Very Good quality, Drink Now or in the next few years, Medium Price. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz, Douro, Portugal.
