La Rioja Alta, Viña Arana, Reserva 2005 (4.7/5)
Notes: It appears med+ ruby/garnet with good tears. On the nose it's clean offering, with med+ intensity, developed (yet vibrant) notes of forest floor, bitter orange peel, cherries, haematic/iron mineral accents, leather, earth and floral hintss. On the palate is dry, with med+ acidity, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium+ body with good concentration. Medium+ finish. Great character and personality (I found it more distintive that the 904 G.R.), elegant and complex. A thrilling wine.
Outstanding quality, Drink Now or in the next decade or more. High Price (but great quality/price ratio). 95% Tempranillo and 5% Mazuelo, Rioja (Alta), Spain.
