Baron de Ley Reserva Rioja 2010 (3.9/5)

Notes: It appears med+ ruby with good tears. On the nose it's clean and delicate but very closed, with shy notes of coconut brambles and raspberries, remote soft baked spices and  hints of garden's herbs. Few mineral terroir-driven iron-like hints.
On the palate is dry, with Medium (supple) tannins, equilibrated acidity, Medium alcohol, medium body with nice creaminess from american oak supporting the delicate red/black fruit. Very balanced. Med finish.
Disagree a bit with Decanter Tasting Panel that voted this as Best £8-£25 range Rioja with a generous rating of 18.75/20 that is ~4.7/5 in my equivalent rating system (Decanter, March 2015, p. 67).
Very Good quality, it's approachable now but it needs time to fully express itself as it has good potential for improving, Medium Price (at the moment is on offer in the UK at less than £8 in a famous supermarket chain, a bargain!). 100% Tempranillo, Rioja, Spain.
