Dunn Vineyards Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 (4.9/5)

Notes: Deep ruby with some sign of evolution on the garnet rim, very good legs. On the nose it's clean with layers of currants and hedgerow black fruits, tar-slate-graphite, pine balsamic notes and forest floor, tobacco and leather, spices. On the palate is dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ tannins, med/med+ alcohol (unbelievably low when compared with his Napa peers), medium+ to full body with fantastic flavor intensity, richness and grip on the mid palate and chewable, long, impressive finish.
Outstanding example of old-school Napa Cabernet, starting to be approachable now but will keep for at least a couple of decades, Premium Price. Cabernet sauvignon, Howell Mountain, Napa Valley, USA.
