Virgile Joly Lirac 2012 (4.3/5)

Notes: It appears deep ruby/purple with good tears. On the nose it's clean offering intense notes of brambles and black cherries, garrigue, with the spicy-mineral-hematic combination that you can typical find in good examples of Grenache-Syrah coming from the Southern Rhone or also Priorat. There's a touch of mocha and a touch of unresolved oak component that should get fully integrated with some bottle aging. On the palate is dry, with med+ to high acidity, med+ alcohol, medium+ tannins (some of them just a bit bitter), medium+ body. Mid palate could be richer and this would have brought this wine to perfection. Finish is medium plus.
Very Good quality, Drink Now but will improve offering a good drinking window up to 10 years, Medium/High Price with good Quality/Price Ratio. Grenache-Syrah-Mourvedre, Lirac, Southern Rhone, France.
