Terre di Faiano Primitivo Appassimento 2012 (4.3/5)

Notes: It appears deep ruby red with very good legs. On the nose it's clean offering Medium+ intensity of red jammy fruits under spirit in a sort of ruby port-like dress. Some toast, spices and mocha enrich the bouquet. On the palate is off-dry (some residual sugar must come from the appassimento method as the alcohol is "as low as" 14%). The tannins are smooth and the acidity medium minus -to low, but there is good sense of equilibrium after all. It actually reminds me to a less complex (but also more discrete and probably more balanced) version of Gianfranco Fino's "Es".
Good quality, Drink Now or in the next few years, Medium-high Price but good QPR. Organic, Primitivo, Puglia, Italy.
