Domaine Jones Fitou DOP 2012 (4.2/5)

Notes: It appears medium to deep purple, with good slow legs.
The nose it's clean, with med- flavour intensity, it offers a good mix of brambles, violets, liquorice (Carignan is dominant on the nose); Syrah brings some very low peppery note. Certain fruity  high tones make me think part of the grapes was whole-berry fermented, although I may be wrong being this just an effect of a ripe Grenache. Some garrigue, and very subtle toasted notes on the end from barrique.
On the palate is dry, with balanced med+ acidity, med+ alcohol (wonderfully integrated! The wine hides perfectly its 14.5% alcohol), medium+ body with nice focus and superfine-grain tannins helping to support the medium+ finish.
Very Good quality,  the wine drinks amazingly smooth with exceptional balance and it's great with food. Drink Now but should have the backbone to keep for the next 5+ years. High Price. Carignan/Grenache/Syrah, Fitou, France.
